Camping, I don't understand why a snake would kill 3 animals it obviously couldn't eat... unless maybe the chicks were picking at it and it was acting in defense. What kind of snake would do this? Only thing around here that kills unnecessarily (besides dogs) are weasels.
The chicks heads look all wet or something.
It just looks so strange and disturbing. Poor chicks.

The snake on the porch was a rat snake. Remember how bad they were last year? I think the worst day was 7. They are constrictors so it kills before it eats. When it realizes the chick is too big, it tries again. A difference may be in prey, because the same sized rat would be able to squeeze through a small opening because of their weird bones, but a chicken can’t do that. Weird to think that the thing that makes them opportunistic pests is also the thing that makes them prey for snakes.

Have you’re pecan trees start to blossom. If so you ar3 safe on the frost.

None on the property, but the oaks popped out this week. I think I remember seeing someone on fb talking about their pecan trees, but can’t remember if it was local or not.

holy molasses granny!! GET THE LOTRAMIN clear that crap up and then ALWAYS keep clean and DRY! when you feel it starting you slacked or sweated too much, bath and use lotramin again and repeat. Slow down on the sugars for sure!!
