Isn't that too young? Has Beth started weaning yet? Looked like she still has plenty of milk.

I was wondering more about socialization. I was told Belle and her litter mates were taken from the mom early (5-6 wks?) and was told later that being taken too young made her a difficult dog, poor dog social skills. I think a huge part of personality has to do with genetics.they are all eating solid food and some seem to what to chew/play with Beth more then nurse. Jubilees are beautiful, but for your needs, I would stay away from Orpingtons in general. Great chickens, like the Brahmas, but modest egg layers in my experience.
