There was no gravel. I built the structure out of a lean-to on the back of our garage by closing it in. You dig down and put it below the level of the door with like a half inch gap so it opens and closes easily. Maybe your son could do it?you moved the gravel? Didnt it make it hard to open ? I have a car door and a sliding 16 ft door
