Moved the chicks to the brooder. Every single one looks wet except the silkie mix. I run dry until lockdown. Dang big eggs.

Baby wild birds are so weird, when I was little I thought the parents hid the babies BECAUSE they were ugly to look at...

OH Indigo Bunting? they are the same size as a goldfinch...

I got a funky chicken. It looks like a black sex link but it has the wyandotte /sebrite comb and green legs

It is pretty! Dark blue birds always have a sort of majestic quality to them. The cool thing about blue on birds or even butterflies and flowers is that is it all an illusion, just a way the particles reflect light. For many birds, the base of the feather is black creating a blue/purple sheen.
