Granny's gone and done it again

He does not love her the same way you do and she knows it. My dogs are the same with my hubs. His attitude is "you are lucky to be living in my house, so don't screw up." And they respond to that. You can't be soft. Make her earn it. You have to expect that she will mind you, and nothing else from her is acceptable. It's easy for me to say, but very hard to do... I don't have the right personality for it. I need an easy dog. I want to love and nurture. That's not what you need for training.

I make her sit, stay, and wait for me to say “eat” before she can have food. She has to sit and stay for the leash, and we’re working on sitting before a door opens to go in or out (feels like playing with Fire if it’s potty time). But she likes to try to jump on the sofa with me, and when I fuss and say “off!” she tries to wrestle. I’m glad DH can put her in time out, but I’m jealous too.

That's terrible.

Golden Spangled Hamburg

Fire season already! yikes! Glad the wind was blowing away. How hot was it when the pics were taken? Your little BO does look hot, but it seems an individual thing. Our BO doesn't seem to be bothered by the heat, and she is old and fat! The golden sexlink would overheat easily, but other people with those said they were no problem. :idunno If you run the hose and soak the ground in the shade, they will dig down and stay cool.
I bought some of those aluminum feed pans on sale at TSC, going to put them in the runs , full of water for them to wade in. I think i may roll up the bottoms of the tarps on the runs so they get a breeze.

I do that with the pans, and they seem to enjoy it. I also do like wishing and soak the ground. I was hoping the sunflowers and corn would shade the windows a bit, but doesn’t look like they’re going to get that tall.

Can you build a pen for them , offer them to people that you will raise them, organic turkey for thanksgiving.
I am better off selling poults, lower feed bills. I plan to raise some for us to eat.

I was going to say the same thing... she's still a puppy. In addition to being smart, she seems to want to please you, so you have a lot to work with. Do herding dogs herd before they are adults? I would be surprised.
Yes, our sheltie was always trying to herd everything when she was quite young.

That's a good idea. It is not humid here in summer, so wetting the shaded ground really helps.
