Fine still swells. He should keep his feet up more.

Jane, bet it's hard to believe that your gd will be starting kindergarten in the fall. My oldest gs will miss the cutoff to start this fall. His birthday is in December. I'm glad for him because I don't think he would be ready to start this year. He's very smart, that part he could do. He just isn't mature enough imo.

Diabetes is a horrible thing. My dad lost a toe to it & he had just learned prior to his passing that they were going to have to take the foot. I'm glad his liver gave out on him first.

I had a lone chick hatch with a broody today. It's from my CCL hen & my FBCM roo. Just realized this afternoon that that made it a Olive Egger sex link, yay...... guess what sex it is??

Thanks Jane, he had to suffer a bunch the last 5 years of his life. The last 3 years he had lost all kidney function after a sepsis infection travelled to his heart & damaged his heart valves. He underwent 2 open heart surgeries to try to repair the damage. After many months of intervenous antibiotics his kidneys were damaged & quit working. He had dialysis 3 times a week for 3 years. Then that stopped working. He was very ready to go. We were all glad he didn't have to suffer anymore.
