DH took the kids down to the cabin where the staff live to stay the night. I’ve got the place to myself! So I’m cleaning the bathrooms and driving laundry to the dining hall. :/
Im glad you have another place to wash. Are you doing better ?

I will be after a good nights sleep. It’s just a busy time of year. The girls picked up the fig tree and some petunias when they ran in for groceries. There was a work group here and they were FANTASTIC. Hardworking and helpful. :love it was a busy day but pretty good overall.

Gertrude Jekyll is an English rose, part of a huge collection developed by a guy named David Austin. It does smell lovely. I don't want a rose that doesn't have a scent. If you ever are bored, look up David Austin roses. Amazing. https://www.davidaustinroses.com/

I am on the wish list for a climbing rose called Fourth of July. The flowers look like fireworks and have a nice scent. Hubs liked this one. They have starts, but won't be ready until next month.

My moms favorite climber was the Blaze. It is red and non stop blooming. I liked

Oh boy. That pool cleaning takes me back. Did that for a couple years

Of course this made me go look... no more personals.
I'm torn between Harold and the Purple Crayon and Nancy Drew. :D
That's crazy that CL allowed that garbage in the first place.

Originally built by military... tons built in WWII era for storage and living quarters too.

They have been sold as army surplus and used for all sorts of things, including houses. There is an original WWII one near here used as a house. It's green and they added a little porch on the front. It was there when we moved here in 1970. I guess they are big collectors items now. This isn't it. I should stop some day and take a few pics.

Someone has one of those that they use as a cottage near here.
I just now realized my #1 does the exact same thing. He would rather suffocate than have the window down. Except for the muscle car... not worth driving if you can't have your arm hanging out the window!
Gotta be cool in the muscle car :gig

I'm sure you will go and have fun, but from the hermit's perspective, staying home alone for a week is the best vacation! Think about it Lisa... a week of peace and quiet, set your own schedule... cook only what you want to eat, no babysitting... ahhhh
Haha, I told hubs this exact thing when he told me we were going & when. Would serve him right for making plans without my imput. He seems to think that all the chit gets done all by itself around here sometimes :rant
Wow, this sounds like my dds.
Mine have been night & day their whole lives. Love them dearly but would like to knock their heads together sometimes.
My business cards arrived already!View attachment 1384983View attachment 1384984
2 sided cards.
They look great Cap!
I’m just exhausted from watching the group work today. I’m done with meals but they’re still going. I snuck home to my cool dark house to switch the laundry, but my washer it out now. :rant
Dang girl, that black cloud can just mosey on out of your life anytime :hugs

Hello. We went to a beautiful garden to look at roses. I have a climber on order for next month. Haha... that gives me a few weeks to get some kind of a trellis up.
It is a cool old place, surrounded by vineyards. Nice to see somebody growing something besides grapes.
View attachment 1385687 They had rows of perfume flowers. Petals are used to make rose water and other scented things. smelled good!

This rose is called Gertrude Jekyll. I used to have one but it died last summer. Seeing this one makes me want another.
