We have strikes for field day and slip n slide day. 3 and you’re out. Bad behavior and bad attendance (unexcused) after a certain day count against the child.

That sounds fair.

take DD to school a tad late and wait outside while she goes in and asks for another order form. Keep your ears opened .

I found it. Deadline was the 4th. “There will be no shirts ordered after this time.” Oh well.

We’re taking her early and raising a fuss til we’re seen and heard.

She doesn’t have a leg to stand on. She said DD said it twice, DD said once. I said “what was the context?” And she said “I don’t know, there were kids everywhere and I can’t keep track of their conversations but I know their voices.” So she overheard it happen, did not witness, and did not address it in the moment.

Teacher said she warned DD, “that’s not uplifting behavior, that’s a word we don’t say, don’t to that.” DD said there was no warning, teacher only said “you’re probably going to have to clip down.” DD also said there is no posted list.

DH said he’s going to start with “show me right now in your class that list of words we don’t say.”

I would like to be a fly on that wall.

I’m going to remind them that speeding is against the law. Most of the time you don’t get caught. Sometimes when you do get caught, and deserve a ticket, you just get a warning.

Go DH. And if teacher says there were kids everywhere and couldn't track their conversations, then how does she know that DD even heard her? hmmmmm??? The word stupid is completely benign used out of context. If she didn't hear the context, she's just being...

I don't know what kind of school your DD goes to but if saying the word "stupid", especially when not targeted to anyone present or known to anyone else present, is considered bad behavior I think the dictator in the office needs to be replaced.

That's because we're all super young... at heart!

And I ain't clipping down and you can't make me!

Bruce, I used to teach. It is a lot of hard work, but the focus should always be what is in the best interest of each child. This teacher is lazy, putting in her time so she can retire and terrorize the kids in her neighborhood full time. I've seen it time and time again. Only thing I dislike more than a lazy teacher is one that tries to teach kids WHAT to think rather than HOW to think. This has become a real problem in the last 10 yrs and extends into some colleges now.
