Granny's gone and done it again

Pam, so glad you made it home safely. I too would have liked to see you stay overnight in the hospital & be cared for. Home is not the ideal place to be passing a stone, but I understand your need to get home. Praying that you are able to pass this stone quickly & that the antibiotics they gave you kick into action fast on the bladder infection. Love you & will chat with you tomorrow. My body is tired so I'm going to head off to bed. The kiddos will be coming out tomorrow afternoon for an overnight. Must be rested for those "Monkey Butts" lol. Rest well hun, fingers crossed that pain meds kick in fast.
Sweet dreams:hugs

Good idea!

Yes, the black vultures have taken to hunting now. I like turkey vultures much better. They are harmless.

hmm... I think $25 is cheap for a started pullet of a rare breed in your area... That would buy you a bag or two of feed. It's not much given ho much time you out into them, and she will want a guarantee they are female.

haha... The kid version of me used to lay out in field in front of the barn and see if the vultures would come and swoop me. They always did, but I never got one to land. Mom said I'd have to smear rotten meat on myself first. Never tried it.

:hugs I am trying to plan something... some constraints here at my end.

You could call him Ajax or BonAmi.

haha I guess you guys already know all about the black vulture problem. We don't have them here yet, thankfully. Hope they are not protected.

:hugs
I’d rather have the turkey ones here.

People want everything cheap. Any higher and they won’t sell. Can’t even sell normal laying pullets for $10 here. They cost 3.99 at the feed store as chicks.

haha... true for just about every animal. They did a study on wild tiger in India (I think). Kept a steady supply of food for them in the same location for months. The tigers stayed in the immediate area... did not roam or have the urge to hunt, apparently didn't mind being bored. This kind of hushed some zoo critics, saying the poor animals are bored and should be put back in the wild. Something to that, but if we don't keep some safe, we could lose them all.

Hi Misty. We were gone a lot longer than planned. I was happy to find a couple pairs of cotton short pants (just below the knee)... perfect for this hot weather AND on sale! :yesss:

Vultures don't have feathers on their head, so you see the red skin.
You probably saw a turkey vulture.

I think you have black vultures too, but their heads have black skin, not red.
I could go on and on about vultures, but will spare you! :D
Awesome:cool:

so although Myth busters couldnt recreate it it is 100% possible. mech. failure is the main cause. Ice builds up under the plains in flight causing cracks in the lines or murphys law causes the safety valve to fail with the biggest hunk of blue ice wound be about 3ft.
