No dog catchers out here. It’s the Wild West. I’ve told her already not to leave the dog outside unattended.

No rest for the wicked. Dinner done , chickens done . Too many eggs for a change. serama little in the coop. was still wet. I give up. Tom and I just cleaned that coop including the eggs. There has to be a very well hidden nest . The egg I tossed the other day had a full grown chick in it. It was on the floor.

Back to work. Waiting for a call back from a marriage councellor I’ve had my eye on for a while. Found out some friends of ours also see her and says she’s awesome so...yep. Finally pulling the trigger.

Good for you! It will be hard, but very worth it.

Walked 2.25 miles this morning, showered, and went to the sale barn. Prices seemed low today. Got home and at least two chickens are missing. Sarah left her dog outside unattended for at least 6 hours (from the first time I saw her this morning til I got home). I don’t have proof it was her, but I don’t have proof it wasn’t.

I’m super upset. I know that my own dog is a chicken murderer, but it’s different when my dog kills my chickens. It’s not the same when she neglects her stray that she took in but doesn’t like, tosses her outside for 6+ hours, and doesn’t even say sorry. “She wouldn’t come in.” That’s a lie, because she was on Sarah’s porch when I called my dogs home (when the chickens were still safe in the coop).

The only thing that might clear her is that I can’t find bodies, just piles of feathers. So it could’ve been coyotes. Regardless, she needs to train her dog.

Why is she keeping the dog then? Train it or build a kennel for when it's out and no one is watching it. Very inconsiderate person. Must be very frustrating.

I think she’s a bull terrier crossed with lab, maybe. She’s a cool little pup and I like her, but she shouldn’t run loose anymore than Josie should.

she looks like the budweiser dog. If you are like me you want to avoid confronting her. Go cry on her shoulder. Tell her you think Josie killed 2 chickns and you are heart broken because you are doing every thing right like watching her, keeping her in the house when you can but she must of slipped out somehow while you were gone . In other words guilt that ho hoo into doing something. OR your DH is mad and said the next time he catches Josie or any dog around the chickens he is shooting them on sight . Tired of wasting money on them just to get killed .

I like the 2nd option. The first gives her an out. Like oh so she thinks it’s josie doing it, so Josie is taking the blame.

I sent her a picture of the feathers everywhere. She came and got the dog. She tries to reason with dogs like they are human children. And she expects training to be easy. I get super frustrated with her.
