Ugh, the stink bug invasion has begun! They are collecting on all the buildings. I have started killing them.

Don't they know that So. Cal has a serious issue with lack of water? Even recycling car washes are using water that could be better used elsewhere. But I get the CA car culture. People would rather wash their cars every week than do anything else.

ended up with about 295 bushels of oats the "silo" will/can hold 500 or a little more.

Plenty of room if you need somewhere to hide

"feed" oats is usually cheaper then the "cleaned" stuff and may have some other grain or bugs (dead) and weed seed mixed in with the oats. This year there was corn in mine . Last time LOTS of dried grass hoppers.

And the chickens probably LOVED the little extras!

I get 2.50 a dozen same price as a dozen jumbo's when I have those as well.

$2.50 is about what it costs me to have the chickens produce a dozen eggs.

Im lazy I think . I discovered that I cant bend over anymore with out having pain. Even to tye the garbage up. Bout broke my heart.

I would have grabbed some pics of her today, BUT evidently she didn't like the noise of the grain auger and spent most of the day "hiding' out behind the main chicken coop.

I don't blame her, you said it was pretty loud.

Wishing, He hit target first try from 30 yards. Lady at wal mart tried to give him a hunting magazine and he said no thank you, I dont agree with killing defenseless animals. Cracked me up ! She was the same one that said he shouldnt own a gun because of his autism. Peed him off. She asked him if he knew how to work a mouse on the computer and he said Thats about the weirdest question anyone has ever asked him. So he asked her if she would like him to teach her.

Hey Sally, haven't seen you in a long time.

Fat Red looks like she's molting. Most of my hens are very cranky when they molt, so maybe that's what's wrong with her.

Interesting, mine tend to go all passive when they moult, even the normally dominant ones. They separate from the flock when they are out ranging.

Well. Quad shot this am it is. Another negative. Really wish I knew why my body decided skipping months was a good thing now.

That has to be seriously stressful!

Pretty much all costs other than converting the stall to a coop divided by # of eggs laid.

I got the hardware cloth on the bottom foot of the door and the exterior wall of run #1. And i crawled up on the roof again and secured the tin so the end could not be lifted up by coons on top of the run.
I painted boards for the roof of run #2, but i am going to be short on welded wire by the looks of things. Also cut hardware cloth for the spot over the door, and then it was supper time.
