Granny's gone and done it again

We saw something really strange tonight. It looked like a comet, kind of a moving bright light with rays shining off of it. Very unusual. Turns out, it must have been the SpaceX rocket landing at Vendenberg AFB, which is way down in southern CA. #1 got a pic. I'll see if I can load it.

I always called that summer solstice. I dont know the meaning or difference between the 2 but yes thats the right date.

Summer solstice and winter solstice are the longest and shortest days of the year. First day of fall and spring have equinoxes... equal hours of daylight and dark.

I remember in Fl. hearing the sonic boom. Was a bit scary to me. Did you hear anything or they didnt leave the atmosphere right ?

I think it was putting a satellite into orbit, so would have been at the edge of the atmosphere. Sonic boom comes from speed, going faster than the speed of sound and has to have an atmosphere to occur.
I think what we saw was it on its way back down to land. We thought is might have been a plane with it's landing lights on, but it wasn't quite right for that. We thought it was over our valley, but it had to have been HUGE, given it was over 300 miles away.

Nope. First day of summer is the longest... that's why summer is hot, long days. Short cold days for winter.
