it’s sad. I hope she doesn’t go broody again. She’s crazy. Thanks guys. Hubby just said well, stuff happens. But i felt badly for the little guys and mama was yelling for them all day.
No males left in the flock , so even if she lays , questionable if they would be fertile. She would have had to incubate for 35 days. She still has the other 2 keets.it’s sad. I hope she doesn’t go broody again. She’s crazy.
I know it makes you feel bad Cap but guinea mamas suck and littles are tender. They come from africa and need to be kept dry. Mamas walk them through wet grass and thats all it takes. Did you know that ? I bet not. If they have babys you take them if you can or they dont have a good chance. Bet you didnt know that either. Not many do. So how can you feel bad for expecting a mama to take care of her babies and she dont ? You cant. First little I ever owned, I dropped a rock on it killing it instantly. Cried for days. It was an accident of course but I felt bad anyway. Best you can do now is try and catch the last 2 .![]()
I went through all the seramas eggs today. One good egg out of 30some and one little . I guess having just one roo is paying off. I was tempted to put my tolbunt eggs under them. hahaa I didnt .Broody chickens make good left mamas. When the littles get chilled the chicken will sit on them.
Bad news, the swap is 3 days after my surgery. I guess i will be skipping that.
