Good dinner/ breakfast . I fried apples then turned them into fried apple pies w/icing. bacon and sausage and cheesy scrambled eggs w/ mexican blend cheese and a cold glass of milk. I got Robert and the housekeeper involved then stepped back and watched the fun. They did good.

All of the "white" hens are going this time including the few VERY VERY old Brahama's, the deleware's, the rhode island whites and the silver lace wyandotts. And all of the roosted except for the one's Rod's daughter banded from this years chicks for her 4H project. I am looking for a 3 and or 4 type of Main breed so I can alternate breeds by color and then every year just off that color. So far my keeper breeds are Australops and New Hampshires. Am trying the barred rocks this year to see how they do for production and egg size. IF they do well that gives me 3 main breeds and I can just order ONE breed every year and when the new ones are ready for gen pop all of the same breed but OLD can go to camp.

Barred Rocks are good layers.

I had a pretty good nap. The worst part was waking up with the dog barking.
Hubby made spaghetti and Sicilian meatballs. Way too hot to eat. Still raining here, pretty tired of that. I did get the chickens fed but i need to go check for eggs. And close up the barn, it is getting dark.

I did manage to get the barn closed up, but both dogs got soaked in the process. Guess the river will be up again with all day rain.

Down to 11/15 of the shipped eggs. Had to add more water since the ACs are huge! Only day 9. And I’ve added a full solo cup 3x

I can always tell the exact day winter becomes real for me. Its today. SAD kicks in.
I got my shot today. One day late from the 25th but close enough.
Tomorrow there is a swap. Unbelievable. Im not going to stand out in the cold just to give my birds away.
I think I am going to try the heated dog dish this yr. Its on sale for $15. right now. Probably wont be when our check comes in.
I have never seen the thread so dead.
