Phone co. called. said they want to come out and replace copper w/ fiber optic . Says we will have faster/ better internet. Also , and I see this as a problem, Landlines will no longer work if electric goes out. Said they will install a battery back up that will work w/o electric as long as the battery is good. Their battery will last about 6 hrs. in the event of a power outage but we will still have net. For a house that dont have cell phones and calls 911 on occasion this worries me.

The battery is good for 6 hrs if you are using it? If the power goes out, turn off the computers and I bet you will have use of the phone for longer than 6 hrs. Ask the person when they come tomorrow.

Oh I didn’t know that. Could robert get one in his name? My cell phone can work off the WiFi.

You can make a call through the wifi? What kind of service is that?

Well, the loan officer at the bank today gave me a couple ways to go . One, 20 yr loan @6 1/2 % that can go up 4% after 10 yrs. So not fixed. OR personal loan @6 1/2 % with monthly payments around $160.00 for 3 yrs. That was for a $5,000.00 loan

I would assume using it but could be as soon as you lose power which we have for days. Its stupid if you ask me. Thats why people have land lines in case we lose power.
