Good morning from California! Well, a smokey morning. We had super high winds last night. Blew stuff all over the yard and kept us awake. ugh. I had to tape off the cat door since it was swinging in the wind and allowing lots of smoke in the house. Today we can see a bit of blue sky, but the smell of smoke is strong. Wind is much less now, but the breeze is stirring things up. Humidity is low low low... Paradise fire grew over 4,000 acres last night (104,000 total acres burned) and the death toll is now over 20. When it's safe, they will be bringing in forensic anthropologists to search for more remains. Over 100 people are unaccounted for. Hopefully that's just due to the chaos, and they will find that everyone is safe. Do a rain dance for us!

People give me headaches. A lady messaged me about chickens, didn’t check location or even read the post to know which ones are for sale. Of course wants the ones not for sale and tells me she doesn’t want the others. So I sent her a SS of the post and circled the ones available. She hasn’t responded.

Its been like this for a month or so. Drs, said he has more blockage. He is throwing clots and having TIAs.

Poor Tom. At least he is getting around better with the one good leg now. Does Robert understand what's happening?

Got down to 22 last night. Lost a duck. I think they huddled on top of him. His neck was broke.

Sorry, Alley. What kind of ducks do you have?
You get tomorrow off from work, yes?

They don't expect hubby's Dad to see another birthday.

It's a very sobering thing. Time is relentless.

I am going to have to bundle up when i go out. Wishing for spring already!

Oh wow. Not even officially winter and you are looking for spring. Going to be a long winter!

I wonder if they have Serama blue layers... Hubs will be heading over that way next month. Maybe he could bring some eggs back... say they are hard boiled for his lunch. haha... I could write a book... I Married an Egg Smuggler!

Muscovy. It was a drake but it still makes me sad. They are so friendly. Yes we get tomorrow off! I’m so happy because the weekend has gone by quick!

Probably embarrassed. Maybe she is a little older and not so good with tech media, maybe starting to forget things... like what was at the beginning of the sentence I just read. Got to be a little forgiving for some folks. But yeah, it can be annoying, especially when you go to the trouble of including all the info in the first place.

That's right. I still think about getting muscovies... then I come to my senses.
My kid is thrilled to get a 4 day weekend. Classes were cancelled on Friday due to the bad air quality, and Mon is the holiday, so happy boy. That means only 4 days next week (or less if it's still smoky) and then a 3 day week for Thanksgiving.

they are great! Definitely my favorite ducks. Lucky! This 4 day week is gonna be long. The kids have a classroom feast on Friday. And who knows what is going on the other 3 days this week. We only go 2 days next week. But idk what we’re going to do since the oven is not not working after the guy tried to fix a burner last time.
