that we know of <insert> twilight zone theme music

cause it was old. LOL I paid $10. for it at a yard sale when Robert was a little. You could smell the cigar the previous owner smoked every yr. It never went away and the needles were dropping. It went together stem by stem. The new ones are 3 pieces and pre-lit. He said they are a PITA to put together.
Have you had a tree up since you got PITA? He'd probably destroy it!
Maybe the maid can help you decorate a little. :D There are tons of ways to display ornaments that don't involve setting up a tree.

Grandma's Ginger/molasses Cookie Recipe ( I did remember :yesss::wee)

3/4 cup Crisco ( I have tried butter and lard as well and just NOT the same/right)
1 cup white sugar

Cream them together

add 1 egg beaten and 1/4 cup of light molasses and mix

2 cups of ap flour (NOT self rising)
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons of baking SODA
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon of both ground ginger and ground cloves.
(I add everything but the flour first and just keep the mixer running then add the flour, seems to work fine)

mix WELL

roll into small balls and then dip/roll in white sugar

bake in moderate oven (350*) for 9 to 15 minutes depending on size and how crisp of a cookie you like.

IF YOU HAVE A 6 QUART KITCHEN-AID MIXER you can do a triple batch no problems

yield (for me) about 4 dozen cookies for a single batch.
