Granny's gone and done it again

had to change shirts and all kitchen towels, dish rags are now in the washer, Second load of clothes for the day

The 2 breasts with skin on came to about 4 pounds or so , the 2 single breasts no skin about 1 1 /4 pounds and legs and trimmings little under 4 pounds.

I did debone all of the breasts.

I had been a long time since I have butchered a duck and was a little out of practice.

NEXT time I am NOT doing it after pin feather season. OMFG :he:th

Well it was free. But turns out i have a pair of roosters! I knew it when i saw them, but i drove all that way and figured maybe i can sell them for $5 each and get my gas money back. Plus i got food and a waterer.
Boy is THAT making lemonade out of lemons!

That poor dog. What happened to her skirt?
I thought maybe the dog was lucky to get away from the buzz saw before it got any farther up its body!

I've been wanting to buy some new cook wear. Kind of expensive but I been looking here.

Doesn't look all that expensive to me, especially if it is quality.

well crippled me is back home & trying to type one handed I think sprained the left one when my feet went out from under me on ice. I remember nothing except severe pain to the back of my head. Evidently I was "out" for a little bit and then very nauseous when I finally managed to stand up.
Oh my! Not going to read to find out if you ended up in the ER with a concussion and broken wrist before posting! Sure hope you are OK!

Yep, if they are willing to pay big bucks for mutts, it pretty much has to be for fighting.

Very good info, I knew women's heart attacks were different but not how.

SO sorry!! How did they die?

The hut is not well built or insulated and I hate it. Honestly wish the husband would have given me the money he spent on it to get supplies to build one.

Something disturbing today... #1 noticed the serama rooster's spurs have finally grown into the sides of his legs. :( I knew it was coming, but obviously haven't been checking well enough. Spurs are embedded... his right side is worse.

Thought I was in for a heap of trouble and a bloody mess, but it wasn't too bad. Clipped as close as possible and calluses must have formed since the spur tips came out with no blood.

So glad he caught it early. Lucky for that rooster #1 likes him and picks him up every so often. Guess this will be a regular maintenance thing.

Oh, he's got leg mites too. :hit:mad::mad::mad:
Poor guy!

Muscovy looks a lot different then pekins . I had 2 inches of fat between the skin and meat. It looks good . I hope you enjoy it. It was a long time coming. Room looks good too.
I got the chickens fed/watered. everything scrubbed out good , window boarded up . every thing except the leaning tower of treesa(pisa) and I looked at it. I think it could be saved if I had some help. roots on one side are almost out of the ground.

The husband, Bob, will be home tomorrow until Tuesday night or Wed morning. Not sure which just yet. We will be going to get my the supplies to build the two small hoop coops I have been on him about. I will get to build them without his "help". I may also convince the minions we can get all the pallets and make the pallet fence around the area I want the Poultry to be and then run the Hotwire across the top of the pallet Fence to keep them safe.
If I was more comfortable running the tractor I would use that to assist with the fence, but I am not all that comfortable driving it. Too many levers and not a one is labeled. My luck I would kill myself, a child or the critters running it.
I can operate the quad and use it to push the one hut into the spot I want it. Just need to tear down the old pallet fence line. (yes, I am stealing pallets from one fence for another fence. LOL

This was Lucian. When he was found as a kitten he was blue from the cold and on his way out. You couldn’t even tell he had white on him. Wasn’t even a week old. He just had his 2nd bday at the beginning of October. I’m going to miss him.
:(

:hugs

memory is fine so far.
That may not be saying much!!

(The theory behind the trim is the long hair will keep the dog's vital organs (heart/lungs) "insulated and warm", but the rear is trimmed
Sooooo, they don't care about having the males able to breed? :lau
Yeah, I know, not much hair back there anyway.

So I have two neighbors that are safe. I just do not recall them when I am face to face.
Could you maybe put their pictures up by the front door so when they come you link their faces to "these are people I am acquainted with"? Maybe even a description of why you know them?

Only 159 posts before I am caught up, other than what y'all post while I'm reading.
