They always know exactly where the point of their horns are. Rod got tossed for a loop by Sheila BUT she had just calved and wasn't feeling well made sure her horn went around him. Star tossed Yuri once

NOW Sunny actually knocked down her previous owner and went back for seconds and thirds I think she was trying to "grind him into the dirt" BUT IMHO he asked for every bit of it. They were trying to load them into my trailer and he was pushing and smacking her all about the head and face with what looked to be a cross between a softball and a fish bat.

You can NOT force/push yaks you must let them know and gently encourage them to do what you want. Rod gets impatient

Twist, these are the best pictures you have taken of the herd. Very nice and healthy looking. I knew it wouldnt take you long to make the new girls look better and you have. 19 looks 9 again compared to what she looked like before

thank you !! amazing what decent living conditions, good hay and PASTURE, licks tubs will make. Minnesota is NOT a kind place for yaks. IMHO

He sure did deserve it! Too bad she couldn't grab that bat and whack him in the head with it a few times.

Martinika is a year and 2 days older then Curly Sue.

Her mother Crazy Sheila died about a week after sue's birth and Sheila was the head/lead cow. Since then all the girls have been jockeying for the job and then adding the new girls has prolonged that. Currently Star seems to be the lead with Comet her buddy and they have been together since Comet's birth as the enforcer of what Star wants.

Janet and 19 could care less , it's like we are to old to be bothered BUT don't press your luck as Choice found out with Janet.

Choice want's/ would like to be head cow but that doesn't seem to be happening.

Granny wanted to but I think the loss of her 2 , 1/2 sisters and life long herd mates sort of thru her for a loop,.

yep, I am hoping with patience and kindness and NO BAT's she will settle down and become a "good girl"

I think next breeding season , I am going to put Tibbit's with Janet, and a couple of the new girls and see if he can sire me some calves. Should I get a "NICE" bull out of Janet or one of the goldens that would probably become Porter's future replacement.

oh wishing question for you.

Would Tibbit's son only be 1/4 related to the rest of Porter's heifer calves ?? as Tibbit's is 1/2 brother to all of Porter's calves. It would be a "generation" removed from all of the heifer's I am keeping
