Some happy plants. The mini roses were my discounted dollar black spot infested Home Depot scores. The one is coming back slowly but the blooming one is happy!

The lavender was also a dollar score.

Started when DH and I were newlyweds, mostly because we’re both impatient. Now it’s weirdly practical. Whenever the tree is up and the presents are wrapped, any day is fair game for Christmas. One year was November 27th, but usually we wait until the 17th or so. This is the closest to real Christmas Day that we’ve ever made it. The short answer is we’re the traveling family, so it’s nice for the kids to open their presents and play a few days before we travel to someone else’s house. That way we get to have our traditions without messing up someone else’s.

The long answer is that Christmas is a season, and we feel welcome to celebrate our love for each other at any time we decide. There’s no biblical proof that Jesus was born on any particular day, the date was chosen as part of the church calendar. Or maybe I’m wrong, sometimes I get my wires crossed. Regardless of that, it fits my family to do it this way, at least for now. Maybe one day we’ll straighten up. Or not.

I do think it takes a lot of the stress off, because I need my shopping done in November. Usually I’m not fighting crowds, but I got behind on it all this year.
That makes sense. Personally I would like to do it without presents on Christmas then on new years give everyone a token of our love. Of course that doesn’t exactly work with whole Santa thing.

Hi all, Bubba looks like a different person. He is growing too fast and DD is looking more like you every day. Lucky girl. Troll soap ! How very cute.
Cap, Did you get your MRI ?
Nugget looks like he might be getting that eye infection back. I think I should give him antibiotics again.
Robert is off w/ worker to the movies. Worker told me he will be stepping down from this job and has offered to become Roberts personal aid. That means we would need to quit the company we are with now and hire him . More paperwork.
Robert is only getting one gift. A gun case. I cant wrap it and I feel kinda bad but not really. I actually am maybe just wondering IF I should feel bad. He did get new sheets but that dont seem like a gift to me when its something you have to have. Just like the sweat pants I got yesterday. Tom has a flannel in a christmas bag. Thats all I am doing. Ba-humbug.
Hey, it is what it is.. we
I don’t get it.

Howdy all! That heat lamp is having an effect on my Seramas. All 5 hens laid today... although one of them laid a marble. :D

Bruce, we had a chimney fire once in the old farmhouse... it roared like a freight train, but no damage done.
We have a stove pipe running up inside our chimney. It was cleaned 2 yrs ago and we didn't burn much at all last year, so no worries.
