You would need a thicker layer if you have deep mud.

I put a mix of that and sand under the coop for dust baths. Same problem

I have tried many thing including garden lime. That turns to concrete and was worse because the water had no where to go. I put in a drainage tube and put big gravel over it. I have no idea if its working or not though. I buried it tilted down to a lower spot outside the coop . Well, til I added on to the coop anyway.

That sausage had been frozen since Thanksgiving, so maybe processed earlier than the salmonella stuff. Tough way to die.

I keep adding to the run but it’s still muddy. I cleaned the blue coop out today and dumped all the bedding into the run. Need to clean the silkie coop out still. It’s a mess.

I am upset how i am just not pushing myself to work on stuff but i am just sore and tired. I am cutting back more, the Speckled Sussex are going soon. That chicken coop is a disaster.

You get to a tipping point where the work isn't making you stronger, but is debilitating. You have to find the balance. Once your shoulder is better, you'll be able to do more. Did you ever get the MRI results?
