Granny's gone and done it again

Is it possible to run a section of electric fence across a pond?
How wide is the pond?

Well there is a Joanne Fabrics there and a Goodwill!
Good decision on his part to stay home.

I am finally caught up and of course missed everyone again. Maybe? Anyone still here?
You need to move a couple of time zones east!

Not sure how deep it is at the part I’m talking. Doubt it’s waist deep, so a few feet.

I’ve had an offer for duck eggs. Mixed breeds: Cayuga, Pekin, Rouen— mixes of these breeds, and a few others. So I’m trying to decide how to fence a section of the land and pond over by the garden, so they’re safer than last year. I’ve read of lots of cattlemen running a ribbon across the top of the water, and I’ve also seen it done at zoos. I want to run the fence through the pond, and along the opposite bank, so they stay in a designated area instead of pooping on the bridge.
OK we need pond dimensions and the location of the bridge in the pond and the area in general. Can't do this without a "picture". Ducks can swim right? And they can swim under water right? So I don't think an electric fence will keep them on one side real well. Maybe put in a pair of H braces either side of the pond and stretch some 2x4 wire between the posts. Have to have it extend into the water as well I would imagine so the quackers don't go under on one side and come up on the other.

:fl sure hope they can figure something out on you, girlfriend! You been thru about enough.:he
That's for sure!

Chicken mouths are scary
I've never looked in my chickens' mouths. I guess now we know how come the insects and worms and such have a 1 way trip!

Chicken zit? Paging dr pimple popper? I dunno. I may try to get a better closer pic depending on rain tonight. Ugh. This weather...
Talk to Granny, she said she watched every pimple, boil etc video there is on YouTube.

Shes crafty. I swear she can take a dog turd and turn it into a pet rock. LOL
Wait long enough and you don't even have to be crafty.

@campingshaws how's everything your way?

Well, you need to drag that bator out. Sally isnt hatching now is she ?

Plan was fencing to keep the ducks in, but electric is to keep the coins out. And possums, coyotes, foxes, whatever else swims.

Where I lost the cock today was halfway between my house and the pond. He was out of the farm fence.

since when did water and electric dont mix slip our minds ?

I don't believe she was planning to have the electric IN the pond but over it.

Right. And anything that touches it deserves what it gets.
