Granny, your avatar has always reminded me of something I couldn't put my finger on. Finally came across this pic I'd taken from my front yard. Not exact but maybe what I had been thinking of. I know, I shouldn't end a sentence with a preposition.

No, I couldn’t tell if he was pounced near the road and chased into the bushes, or pounced near the bushes and ran to the road.

I was using the dremel tool on the porch and heard a chicken in the bushes right next to the house, making that scolding sort of sound. Not an alarm. Maybe he found a good place to hide?

He’s a very big roo, so I really doubt a hawk would’ve made off with him. He’s gotten away from so many predators, so maybe it was something bigger than usual, or maybe more than one. Or, maybe he’s just holed up for the night.
