Ancient bunny update... Chicory seems to have rebounded from near death. He is standing more and eating and drinking a lot more. Unfortunately, he still tips over and can't get up by himself. And of course he pees on himself laying down, poor baby. So I gave him another rinse off last night and he enjoyed the cuddle time afterwards. Loves scritches and ear rubs since he can't do it himself.

Beautiful girl! We had a small Dane, natural ears, that showed up on the farm one day. We found out her story and it was horrible, but she was an awesome dog. Ask me about Elsa later if you want the story.

Pro, why can't you leave Red with the main flock? Are they picking on her? I left my internal layer with the mob for as long as possible. I even lifted her on and off the roost! She seemed happier being with them.

Granny, glad you got out today. And glad you said you were going out, otherwise I'd think your power was out again. Hope you buy yourself something nice with the money Tom gave you... and make a big deal over it. It will make him happy to see you happy, and even better if he is the source.

Is this going to be on concrete? If not the bottom will sink and it’s a PITA to get the door open. Which is my current struggle after all the rain and snow.
I’m going to get treated wood in the spring to brace the bottom aft I dig it up.

We had a smaller version of one of those coops for 2 Seramas (not enough room! ). They are made very cheaply so we reinforced the bottom by making a frame from 2x4's and screwing it on. Helped a lot.

Prostar, if the coop is going to be outside, I strongly recommend tarping it in the rain. The wood will warp make the doors pretty useless if it gets wet.


Time to hang out laundry. Sun is out today and should be for most of the week. Haven't seen it in awhile.

Oh yeah, you said that before. Teenagers are the WORST! Maybe the boys can go into the extra coop until they get used to the hormones. BAD BOYS! If they are both mounting hens, you may have issues later with them fighting for dominance. Glad the black one's zit went away!

i dunno. Bucky is a good size and BBC is a big boy. I think putting them both in there is asking for trouble.

It's possible to keep a bachelor coop. As long as they can't see the ladies, they usually stay calm. But you never know.

I had 4 or 5 at one point when they were younger. But they free ranged all day and only slept in the coop.

This trio consists of one who we got missing a foot. The boys call her one foot. Keeping her contained makes the boys worry about her less. Although she is one of the leaders fo the 'let's cross the road to the farmer's field' crew
