Granny's gone and done it again

OH dear doesn't look like it would do well in your area there h2o

Salix discolor, the American pussy willow[1] or glaucous willow,[2] is a species of willow native to North America, one of two species commonly called pussy willow.

It is native to the vast reaches of Alaska as well as the northern forests and wetlands of Canada (British Columbia east to Newfoundland), and is also found in the northern portions of the contiguous United States (Idaho east to Maine, and south to Maryland).[1][3][4]

It is a weak-wooded deciduous shrub or small tree growing to 6 m (20 ft) tall, with brown shoots. The leaves are oval, 3–14 cm long and 1-3.5 cm broad, green above and downy grey-white beneath.

The flowers are soft silky silvery catkins, borne in early spring before the new leaves appear, with the male and female catkins on different plants (dioecious); the male catkins mature yellow at pollen release.

The fruit is a small capsule 7–12 mm long containing numerous minute seeds embedded in cottony down
It grows along most of the creeks here. Pretty in the spring.

I don't have the energy i used to. In TN i would be outside all day unless raining or snowing.
You poor thing. :(
Have you been tested for tick borne diseases? With all of them around you... you never know, but some of those diseases they carry cause all sorts of problems for people and dogs too... autoimmune type problems and joint pain. Lyme, ehrlichia, and one other I can't remember. Have them test you.

I have been seeing an ad on tv about this machine that disinfects CPAP machines. I was wondering if maybe you have a stubborn bacteria in your machine that keeps infecting your sinuses? I don't know much about all that, but I feel bad that you are having so many problems lately. Hope you feel better. :hugs

I guess there is some things I am not meant to understand and a moon roof must be one of them.
They are great for looking up at the trees when you are driving through the redwoods

Well so far this morning the 2 year put his lucky charms in the microwave and burned them while I was out switching dogs around. He got my Flonase and was biting off the label and took the quiet top off and he tried to eat a big blob of flourish toothpaste.
Sounds like he was HANGRY! :D

Lost our bull Sir Loin. No idea what happened, he was just in the field covered in flies. Can you take a fecal from a dead animal?

The new calf is scouring bad. I stopped milk, gave spectogard and probios, and a quart of electrolytes. It’s been so wet and cool, I’m afraid it’s coccidia. Do cows get it the same way as chickens? I can take a fecal from her too.
Sorry Camping. :( Who knew that calves were so fragile. Hope the new one gets better quick. I am a day behind, so guess I will find out soon. :fl:pop

Thanks Wishing. I have been tested for tick borne diseases in the past. Always negative. Pulled 3 ticks off the dog today. Almost every test i get comes back normal, why do i feel so lousy? Partly depression i guess. I had diarrhea today. Hubby said, You always have something wrong with you. Just love sympathy. He always has pain every day. Never complains and doesn't take pain pills. At least he can drink alcohol.

Pussy willow is a name given to many of the smaller species of the genus Salix (willows and sallows) when their furry catkins are young in early spring. These species include (among many others):

  • Goat willow or goat sallow (Salix caprea), a small tree native to northern Europe and northwest Asia.
  • Grey willow or grey sallow (Salix cinerea), a small tree native to northern Europe.
  • American pussy willow (Salix discolor), native to northern North America.
Before the male catkins of these species come into full flower they are covered in fine, greyish fur, leading to a fancied likeness to tiny cats, also known as “pussies”. The catkins appear long before the leaves, and are one of the earliest signs of spring. At other times of year trees of most of these species are usually known by their ordinary names.
I missed this whole discussion.

so according to the "new" and very much Unimproved registeration and dna test results. YET more info I didn't need or want. Sheila is about 20% in-bred and Granny about 6% and yet their calves are TOTALLY FINE. :th
I'm trying to decide if IYAK is really about improving the yaks or are just money grubbing...

Here it is for everyone.
Did you talk to the vet yet? Internal lesions will diagnose Mareks, and that didn't show in the report, so I guess it was cancer... that was the only thing that made sense when I looked up neoplastic disease in the Merck manual.

One of two baby Lionheads.
So cute. What color is this one? Looks almost like a pale siamese cat color. Pretty. Does the white one have red eyes? Not a fan of "pink eye." ;)

I had Chicory bun put down last week. :( He couldn't stand up any more. I had to lean him against the side of the cage so he could eat. Made the appointment the next day. It was time.

Did I remember to show y’all this?

haha... they sure do get possessive over the nesting spots. I have Welsummer that squawked up a storm for hours because someone was using the nest box she HAD to have. Exact boxes on either side are apparently not good enough! About 4 hrs later, she laid her egg under the carport amongst some storage boxes. She has been laying in this spot for a month now, but not until she has a good long squawk fest. Sometimes Spike lays there too, since I banned her from the garage. There is chicken poop everywhere outside... I sure didn't need it inside the garage!

I am getting a loan. I am so excited ! Its a really nice van. I checked it out today. Goodyear tires, cold air, power everything. Sounds smooth. rides wonderful. It will take me a while to learn all the bells and whistles. stow and go 3rd row seating so TONs of storage room . :celebrate:ya No more head bumps ! No more hurt knees and back. no more sweating to death or jerking .
:wee :woot

I am not up on what they call all the rabbit colors. The white ones do have red eyes, not my favorite but i have not been able to find a blue eyed white. People love white lionheads!

Random mereks question.

If it is mereks, 1. How long does it take? 2. What’s the incubation period/is there an incubation period?

Sicky red has had this going on so long and haven’t seen any symptoms in the other chickens (Yes we lost hedwig but...I think that was something different)
