I know growing up we were poor. Dirt poor but I never remember eating less than my parents.

I have been hungry. Bad hungry but was mostly my own doing.

Good night Grannyland. I have a lot of work to do tomorrow to get ready for the swap.

I'm eating some goulash I made that is no more goulash than the man in the moon. Just ranch beans, pork and beans, diced tomatoes, hamburger meat and Spanish rice all lumped together. We all like it but it's not goulash.

we had lots of meals like that when I was a kid, mom said when her brothers were home when she was growing up, even tho it wasn't on toast they called it (something) on a shingle....
