Granny's gone and done it again

Well hawk hatched 7/9 and left 2 eggs in the nest. 1 is externally pipped and screaming. The other I think is DIS.

Well. My maran who usually goes broody once a year hasn’t. Ugh. Bucky has also been separated for about a week so even if she did go broody I’d be sol.

I thought orphs were a broody breed. Not once!!
I read that they were. Had one Buff Orp that hatched out babies but I took them because I was afraid one of the other chickens in the coops would eat them.

Wonder where @PenguinsCraft has been?

Oh wow. Sorry been busy...
  1. Cleaned the shop
  2. Hatching chicks
  3. Catching the hens
  4. Catching the roosters
  5. Training the LGDs
  6. Rearranging coops
  7. Moved the stupid Ram to a new pen
  8. Mowing
  9. Learning to run the tractor on my own
  10. Building hut
  11. Building coops
  12. Cutting down trees
  13. Knitting like mad
  14. Playing ESO a few nights

I know there is more on the list. Cleaned out the shop and got it sorted so we can build an incubation, hatching, and brooding room in the back. Ups the value for when we want to sell.
We have more fruit trees to plant. Going to get more blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and strawberries this year as well

Bob has to agree to move out of Kentucky. Now we have to pick a state. We have it narrowed down to Idaho, Missouri, and Wyoming. Which means some things may get sold so we don't have to drag them with us. There are things we have not used in years that are taking up space here. Not going to be any time soon as we have to get a few things done here to sell.

Why are you building all that if you plan to move?

I figured out that if I finish retrofitting the lean-to with hardware cloth, I can put the California Quail in there. Then I can move their pen out of the barn and use it as a brooder. So that problem will be solved.

The rabbit huts we ill need. The coops are portable. Going to be at least a year before we can think about moving so I will still need things to be set here so we can move. Extra huts and coops will go to the new place so we can move the animals from here to there.
