Granny's gone and done it again

well ladies I am going to go zone out until I can lock up OR the hungries get the best of me and I go cook. 2 days of fresh air in a row and then stress/excitement of new chicks and will the calves figure out the electric fence and maybe new calves and LACK of sleep has plumb worn me out.

I wish you all a wonderful evening, Sweet Dreams, Warm Fuzzies and Prayers.

Sorry for your loss Lynda. Was her comb purple ? :hugs I still think you have some type of environmental factor going on w/ those seizures.
No, she looked completely normal except for the comb that was mangled by the other hen. If you saw how she was acting... there was something wrong with her. Throw out some seed and she would pick....... pick...... pick while everyone else pickpickpickpickpickpicks. I would think the others would be affected if it was environmental. I have 2 original hens left (about 6 yrs old), one from gen 1, and one from gen 2 that was Pisspot's hatch. 5 total including the rooster.

Grandma did fine coming out of surgery. Dad said she was eating when he left, and she knew who he was. His baby sister was there too. He scared me half to death when he called because he asked if I was on my way then said “don’t worry about it, it’s too late now.” He just meant he was heading home. :barnie

Two more littles in the coop, bringing me up to ten I think. Peachy has three chicken and two guinea eggs left. I should’ve candled but the bugs were bad. I like the little spotted one. DD named the dark one after herself.

I took a little walk with Josie earlier. I was trying to get a pic of those wildflowers with her as a size reference. She always looks like she’s about to leap into action.

Sunset was pretty. I could hear thunder way off, but I don’t think we’ll get any of the rain.

environmental could include skeeters causing some brain swelling or swollen from the picking on but they were probably picking because they knew something was off.
Guess it dont really matter.

very pretty Camping. Glad you GM is ok.
Wishing, how many LF do you have ?
13, no rooster

Hubs saw the hen attacking her. Pisspot was seizing at the time and pretty sure it came first, given how slow she had been acting. You got of something. Doesn't seem to be anything contagious... had been going on for a couple of months now.
