Granny's gone and done it again

Such a cute bird.

Wow Camp, DH been doing some sofa surfing? This crew will make a great addition to the camp farm. Will the Lamancha adopt the lamb?

:( Hope they can reduce your rate. You haven't had any accidents... that should count for something.

Carolina wren is common in your area and the nest description matches perfectly. Bottom right on the link you can play the songs it makes. Some sound like a cicada.

Bewick's Wren range is close to you, but shows not exactly in your area. Tail is longer, so shorter Carolina wren tail matches better. I thought it fit because it has some crazy calls, low and buzzy sounding in addition to sweet chirps.
Bewick's wren is now #1's second favorite bird because the name is pronounced Buick. haha! That car is his baby!

Sorry about your little polish.
Don't use the word hate very often, but when it comes to mites, I hate them :mad::mad:

Sorry for the bad news, but glad you are back!

Make lemon curd. :drool
Walking around the yard yesterday, I remembered one other legbar nest site... that makes 4. Dopey Legbars.

Uncle Yuri, right? The youngster is the papa? Pups need a good uncle. Since Lu is not an enthusiastic mommy, I'm going to predict 10 pups, a la Murphy's Law. :D

:hmm Then drive super safe. No unsafe passing at high speeds!

I bet she complains to her friends about having saddlebags.
Wonder if she's got 4 kids packed in there... ouch :th

The lamb took the bottle easily, I think she’ll be fine. Bubba named her Rosie. He called her a few times and said “she don’t like that name.” But I convinced him she just had to learn it.

DH specifically wanted the lamancha to milk out for Lady. Her bag is not very full, so don’t know if I can get milk much longer. He also wanted lamancha a when we first looked at goats. The lady who brought her paid attention to our sale number and came to talk to us. She said she only brought her because the goat was hopping the 4ft fence and eating her trees. She was sad to sell her baby, but very relieved she’s going to the camp to continue being spoiled. DD named her Margie.

Bruce, What DO you do w/ all them yolks ? Im thinking deviled eggs w/ extra.
I don't recall, but I do know that when DD1 makes her gluten free bread with 2 egg whites, she often makes chocolate truffles with the yolks.

I have used them since we moved here for car and house but I aint so set in my ways I cant change.
Make sure you are getting the multi policy discount. And yes shop around, the current company apparently has no incentive to give you lower rates. You said it went up $50 right? How often? Monthly (ridiculous price), quarterly, yearly (it's a STEAL).

2-3 weeks ! No way. that poor girl has to tote that belly around for 2 more weeks. WOW You gonna try and film it ?
Bag doesn't seem to be developed, so I bet kidding is no imminent. If it is, @campingshaws better get some milk replacer STAT!

My grass is up to the top of the air conditioner now. It will kill it w/ no air around it.
So attack it with the string trimmer. Or drive over it forward and backward a bunch with the rider. Of course it is probably close to the house so you likely can't get too close on 2 sides and not at all on 1.

I wouldn't worry about the pregnant goat. Let nature take its course. We had two sets of triplets on the same day one year!
Lady I know on another forum had 4 pregnant ewes. All lambed within the last week. Twins and 3 sets of triplets.

Oh for heavens sake, I had to pull a tick off my nipple! These bugs are getting ridiculous!
@CapricornFarm are you out doing animal chores au natural again?

Or do you mean more like a small enclosed space? I kept Roxie in the “goat coop” when she kidded.
The lady I mentioned above makes smallish cribs for the ewes when they are close so when the event occurs it is just Mom and the kids for a few days.

So you have to keep milking her until the goat kids? Lamacha are milking goats, I guess. Maybe Rosie could have some of the good stuff instead of powered.

The vans full coverage stays this new higher price or I can get liability for $300. less.
Decisions, decisions. The $500 increase is for a year so about $42 per month extra. :( What company is it?

And speaking of Rosie, I spent last Saturday dog sitting for my sis. Rosie and I went for a nice long walk. She walks fast! Much calmer than when sis got her a couple months ago, but we were lucky not to meet any dogs on our walk... she's still fearful of dogs. Now that Scooter is stable (no more seizures) we have to get them together.

A grand a year for a 14 year old vehicle with one driver listed? That seems WAY too much. So yeah, what company is it? I will ASSUME that Granny doesn't have any recent accidents or tickets on her record. Another thing to check is if the company (or another) has different rates for how much you drive. I remember we had a policy that included "pleasure or < 10 miles to work daily". I had to ask if that included the road on the plant's private property. I squeaked into that category because the private part of the drive didn't count.

I'd call at least 3 other companies and find out what they would do for both the car and house. If she finds something better, call the current people and say "I can get this, what can you do?" And if they come down for the same coverage tell them to pound sand because clearly they could have & SHOULD HAVE given her, a long time customer, a better deal all along.

The goat coop is about twice that size.

Molasses?

Bubba also mentioned a spot on her leg. When I move her to the goat coop I’ll check her over. I’ve seen a few on the fb page that look like that. Maybe she wasn’t getting enough to eat? Roxie was very small the whole time she was pregnant. The feed store said to give her meat goat pellets? Is there a better feed source? I’m trying to find good hay.
Look up chaffhaye. It’s $18 for a 50lb bag here. It’s good stuff. I went through that in a month with 5 goats. They only get a bucket full a day or they don’t eat grain. It’s fermented alfalfa hay. That’ll be good for momma. I had a ton of waste with dry hay.

well back early from the farm m Rod wasn't feeling well and then it got HOT and I got tired. Feel asleep in the truck watching the little's sleep UNTIL both Porter and Sunny decided to use the tailgate for a scratching/rubbing post and then Sunny came around the side and tried to stick her head in the window.

Sunny is the crazy one who tried to kill her pervious owner. NOT with out just cause but still.
