OH and finally got the bill for the dryer repairs. 240 buck for travel time PLUS 80 cents a mile Parts were under a hundred and actual billed repair/working time was 60 bucks. Total $546.13

No, not allowed to keep even wild songbirds here, although I think they are lenient during chick season. The bird rescue is full to bursting this time of year. When we went to drop the hawk off there were 3 other people dropping off baby birds. Rescue asks that you do not feed or water a bird, even if you keep it overnight. People can easily cause big problems feeding the wrong type of food to a baby. Over the years, my mom took care of several owls. They LOVE beef liver!

I was contacted by Brad from Bird Rescue, who specializes in raptors. He said the hawk was precisely 31 days old when we brought it in. Amazing they have a way to determine that. Anyway, they want to get the baby back to its parents. It cannot fly, despite all those flight feathers. They will be out looking for the nest this week while the baby heals. It needed stitches on its breast from the car accident, but otherwise is in pretty good shape. According to Brad, my son saved the bird's life. No way it would have survived overnight on the ground.
Go #2! Little hawk in the dog kennel chalet for overnight. Rescue says it will be fine. Hope we can find the parents!

I went to their link and was amazed at the prices. I expected much more. I miss my tank way more then I should. I started to blubber watching that video. Not because I had to leave my favorite tank in the world ever but because even if I had it right now I wouldnt be able to properly tend to it. Thats so very depressing. I have a 30 gal. in the barn and asked Robert if he could possible help me by moving it to the hose so I could clean it then into the house. He never said yes or no. The 15 gal in the kitchen needs to be moved badly as I cant get to the filter. Thats me not thinking ahead again. Thought I would set the 30 up and drain the 15 and swap the fish over.

Yes, red tailed hawk.
I'd take some rain if I could. Smoke in the air from a fire 2 counties east. Guess fire season has begun.

He is adorable. I am selfish because it would of been hard for me to turn him over.
I dont know how they are holding friendship. It floods down there. One yr a bunch of campers got washed away.

Hey, thats not bad. I hope it dont gum the drill up. I have heard people setting their washing machines up outside and using them to pluck. LOL

Last couple times I cleaned chickens I skinned them. I rather not do it that way but it was easier.
