My trees are growing good this yr. If I am going to thin them now would be the best time. Before they are huge but I can tell which ones are thriving and what is just sitting there taking up space. A lot of places in my yard I planted fast growing right next to slow so I could get instant shade then take them down when the better ones were up and growing .
