Granny's gone and done it again

DD and Josie got 3rd place in “large dog” and 2nd place in “tricks.” Josie outplaced some nice looking dogs!

Bubba got first with his hermit crabs! :lau They needed a category for small animals, because the “other” category was bubba with hermit crabs, two girls with guinea pigs, a hamster, and two boys with banty chickens. So the judges put them in three categories and bubba was the only one. :lau

There was no criteria for judging, that I could tell. In medium dog they have points for “bright eyes and attentive.” The dog that placed 1st in large dog was a high strung lab that had to be kenneled for lunging and barking/growling at other dogs. But she’s a duck dog. 2nd was the big shaggy German Shepherd who is a guard dog at the family farm.

It was a good experience for my kids. They were very nervous. The judges were very nice and asked questions about the animals, like what they like to do.

For “tricks” Josie sat, laid down, and rolled halfway over. We didn’t know there was a tricks category, or we could’ve brought a ball or a frisbee, or let her chase chickens. There was also a costume category. We’ll be ready for next year.

LaLo remind me about your flock/farm/fam? I think I’m getting my Texans crossed.
:frow Been away from computer 24hrs, so just starting to read 134 posts!
I am single 60 yr old widow woman no kids with 2 lab mix dogs (avatar), 13 cats - 6 completely avoid human touch, 2 put up with it, 5 friendly. They all are happy to hang out and eat here. Two fawn and white runner ducks. Currently 14 chickens including 2 excess cockerels/roosters and one older EE hen slated for dispatch when it cools down a bit. I guess that sums me up.
Thanks for asking! :p
