Morning. Polish are know for being bad layers but they are slow to mature and 2 yrs. is too young. Thats their prime. I dont know about the others. I never got them for eggs. That was just a happy perk. The critters ate way more then we did.

Yes, except when moulting.

Found the great way to butcher chickens ---stand on their head and pull upwards, disconnects the spine and boom deed done

Similar, use a broomstick across their neck, stand on the broomstick either side of the head.

I find after 2 years their productivity declines and I don't want to end up with a whole bunch of old chickens.

Morning. Caught the neighbor walking the pup again. He let me get a pic. He said he lets her out at night and that a couple nights ago she started barking a lot. He went out to see and he said she got brave and went closer to the scary thing... an overturned trash can. He’s so proud of her, talked about how pretty she is and how good she’s going to be when she grows up. He wants to train her to find deer when he doesn’t get a clean shot and loses it in the woods, so it’s not wasted. He said she can scent where the deer have crossed the road, and she gets excited.
