field corn works well also IF you get it nice and young and add sugar to the boiling water.
They don't grow field corn around here. I was in my late 20s before I knew they were not the same type of corn. :oops:

Was it you telling about the differences here a while back and how they only have one ear per stalk?

I remember one year there was a Government program out to pay farmers NOT to plant field corn so he planted sweet corn instead and took the government money, His dairy cattle didn't seem to care what type of corn was cut for silage.

Remember when I was there, and we were trying to see how many ears were growing on the stalks around there. Mostly just one for the field corn.
