Granny's gone and done it again

I still have a tree and a bunch of plants to put in the ground. Maybe I can do some of it tomorrow.
Can you even believe I have 4 empty quail cages and 3 empty bunny cages?
I don't know how you take care of all that you've got! Seems like winter is coming early in the east. Will your plants be okay if it freezes?
We haven't had a drop of rain since spring. Nothing in site for 9 or 10 days. Sure hope this isn't the beginning of another drought year.

Not too bad. I sure don't get much done. Feel like I'm spinning my wheels most of the time. would be good to cross more off my TO DO list. It's getting longer and longer.
You seem to get a lot done! I need lessons!
I don't make a list, it would be too overwhelming. I need a silkie coop, another California valley quail cage, and a pen for young birds. Plus a big brooder would be good. I need to make a bunch of feeders to hold a couple days worth of food that I can fill without opening the cages. My workshop needs to be insulated and cleaned up. Always something to be done. Hubby had me make tacos for supper tonight. That spider bite yesterday took a lot out of him.

We had no rain all summer but seem to be getting a fair amount lately.
I try to keep up with what the animals need, but I do lose some. Had a chick dead today, not sure why, and a quail got pecked to death by the male. They can be brutal!

How many CA quail do you still have? I imagine they are like chickens, and don't lay much over winter.
I am not even sure how many Ca. Valleys I have. They move around a lot when you go near the cage. They do not lay during winter.

Did he see what bit him? what type? Brown recluse spiders are bad. Cause tissue necrosis. Make sure the bite site still has healthy skin.
He smushed the spider, but he thinks it was a black widow. Said it burned like fire! And he is not wimpy. The bite looks much better since he took Benadryl.

We have a big quail covey that comes through the yard twice a day. They sure are pretty birds. There has been a hawk after them. Serama can't go out with the hawk, so they are getting testy.

Those quail are hard to catch. I usually have 2 or 3 loose in the barn.

I think the main thing to get anything done is to start. If you break a task down, it gets easier. I plan to clean each coop and fix up problems with latches or whatever. Today I put up a perch in the Polish cage. Their old water warmer is pretty beat up, I will likely have to build a new one.
