Granny's gone and done it again

He didn't want to come home for Thanksgiving, too short a time for the effort, and was surprised that most kids did make the trip back home. No choice for winter break... dorms are closed so he has to.
Worked the same way with my kids. 4 days off isn't enough time for a trip that takes 1 day each way if flying (and too expensive anyway) or by train, 2-3 if driving. Not quite the same as if they are at school a few hours driving distance.

Is #2 bringing home a huge bag of dirty laundry for you to do? ;)

You will have a wonderful Christmas with him home. New stories to tell and he is probably really looking forward to some good food.
The dorm food is really top notch. What he's really looking forward to is driving... the freedom to go when and where he wants (with in reason!). I said no car freshman year so he will be less independent and depend on friends for the occasional ride... meaning he has to make the effort to make friends... so far so good!

Yes, 16 hr drive home for him, so not the easiest. He's welcome to lug laundry home, but I won't be doing it! He's not one of those helpless kids... very self sufficient, like his dad, who is watching football and folding clothes as I type. Love a multi-tasker!

My fish looks like she is about to burst with babies. Should I use a breeder box or let the strongest survive ?
