Granny's gone and done it again

A guy I used to work with had a 2 year degree. That pretty much capped his progress "per the rules" but somehow someone somewhere figured out that the 4 year degree wasn't important given his "on the job" education, classes taken at work and drive. He made it 3 levels above "stop here if you have a 2 year degree".

Well boss lady seems like she’s grooming me to take over as controller at some point. Or quasi controller. Cause she’s gotta control lol.

But yeah. It only works when you’re already at the job. If I’m applying for anything at anywhere else....heck I only got this job cause I knew the girl who used to do my job (well. Back when my job was 20 hours a week, payroll and ap for our two big material suppliers lol)

Good morning Granny and anyone else stirring. I finally took the 10 gallon tank out of the box! The sooner I get it set up, the sooner I can get some freshwater shrimp.

Mmmm... shrimp... scampi, gumbo, tempura...

That’s what we need here. Not everyone needs to go to college. Trade schools are good.

Well heck. At risk of sounding like a pompous donkey, I did a two year “legal assistant diploma” program up north. And you know what? I sure as excrement would pit my admin minionry skills against “university educated” peeps down here. I mean my gosh. They want you to have a university degree but so many of them have no bearing or no ability to do anything with once those four years are over. One of the guys at my bank just graduated with a....I want to say photography major with a Japanese minor? Or the other way around....I think the other way around. And it’s like...ok great. You have all this student debt what are you going to do with it now? (Guy is an awesome teller at my bank. He’s good people. I guess I’m just way too much a realist)

My BossLady is all proud of herself she has a history degree. And yet....the typos that go out on emails....the little mistakes....(am I perfect? No but...)

I truly believe vocational/trade schools need to be more of a thing down here.

Student loans are now administered through fed govt and there's a big push in the public schools to send everyone to college, because you NEED it. It's a scam. The loans are not low interest. Colleges are raking in the big bucks at the expense of these young people and no incentive to lower costs or provide quality education. It's ridiculous.

Just got back from dinner. Well. Looks like it’s just him, his lady is in town at a birthday party soooo...

He’s gotta be out of here at a reasonable hour tomorrow which works cause I have laundry to finish and other things that need doing lol. He’s a cool guy though.
