Granny's gone and done it again

Well. I powdered her down and sprayed her toe with microcyn.....same kind of thing as vetricyn I guess. She’s displeased with me and is in the shower in the second bathroom. Luckily pee pads are almost a perfect fit. Yay. So she’ll chill there. I guess I’ll see if she’s dry enough at bedtime to put back with the flock. I’ll have to wake up early enough to spray her toe again in the morning. Or should I keep her separated?

Farm in the am. After picking up a load of layer and a couple bags of oyster shell.

Stock had been strained twice , once of the big bits and then thru a cloth to get the little stuff. In the fridge so the fat will set on top. "they" say do NOT can stock with fat in it. NOT sure what I am supposed to do with chicken fat. Add it to the chicken meat ?? freeze separately or just feed it to the hens ???

what good is broth w/o a little fat ? Not sure why you cant can it.

Pert, SS told me years ago I could draw money for taking care of Robert. You believe that ? I said thats about the dumbest thing I ever heard. I dont want to apply for it. Its my job already.

My brother was drawing some kinda ss for taking care of our mom before she passed.

I dont see why she needs to be separated. your gonna need to treat them all for mites and the coop too.

not sure BUT the "experts" say NO NO NO !! and its to much work to just toss it now IF leaving the fat ruins the batch.

The bantam cochins jammed their waterer with shavings so I had to fix that. The rabbit that was supposed to have babies Thursday had one and chewed off its' head. Two of the polish were sleeping in the run. It's 19° right now! Sigh.

I could just freeze it in lumps/chunks or cubes and the use as desired

I guess thats a little different if he was unable to go to work or something but I couldnt do that personally.
