To set time, pull the stem out until the second hand stops moving and turn the stem to move the hands to the correct time. You should always move the time forward, never back.

To set date, there will be a second click or stopping point when pulling out the stem, but the second hand will keep moving... that's how you know you are ready to set the day/date. Twist the stem one way for date and the opposite way for day.
