Granny's gone and done it again

And we went to the feed store to get anti fungal stuff for the fish tank...

they had chicks.
They had speckled Sussexes. And Easter eggers. And rocks. Among others...

My little lorp doesn’t know what to do with these chicks. She’s kinda letting them do their own thing. They’re close but not under herView attachment 2182051View attachment 2182052
I am hoping when my chick shipment comes, hubby doesn't ask for a divorce! Only 16 chicks....

They only go under to get warm and sleep.

Well. One of them was chirping a lot and loudly. So I tucked her under a wing. Phew.

Hubby decided to dust and polish the log rafters in the great room. He used a whole damn can of spray wax! I had to get out of there because it was giving me a headache!
I went outside to try and transfer young chickens from the brooder to the Turkey coop. I was carrying 4 chickens, a feeder and my water bottle. The one polish youngster climbed up on my arm. That was fine until it jumped off! The rooster that is out guarding his hens raced over and attacked this poor young bird! I kept trying to get the rooster, shaking him, and tossing him away. He kept coming back. Finally I dropped everything but the chickens and grabbed the poor young polish.

Was it a boy?

Indians grew corn, squash and gourds that way I believe.
What a lot of people don't realize is what KIND of corn, beans and squash the Native Americans planted together. The corn was dried and ground, the beans were storing beans, not our typical green beans and the squash was winter squash .... all meant for winter time food. No corn on the cob with summer squash and Kentucky Blue pole beans.

I don't care if he's addicted because he needs the meds anyway and always will.
I think you are safe, he isn't likely to raid your medicine cabinet or steal your money to buy opiods on the street ;)

They are being sued. And apparently it's not easy to remove the asbestos.
They don't have to remove it, they have to not put it in! That would be easy. I guess the hard part is figuring out what to put in instead to do whatever the asbestos did.

I told hubs we were either bringing him back tomorrow or he gets flushed - I don’t care but he ain’t staying.
Time for DH to have his own tank.

Why are crabs so bad?
They eat sleeping fish, so do crawfish.

Waiting for my bacon to crisp up. It's 91° again today!
It cooks faster in a pan on the stove (if you turn it on) ;)

Maybe net it out?
That stringy algae stuff? Nope, pull out all you want, there is plenty ready to come back. Not sure what kills it and if that would be bad for the shrimp.

And then they want to buy the adults.
Of course they do, at least the ones smart enough to know you don't get eggs from day old hatchery chicks for a REALLY long time. Any egg shortage that may exist in an area will be gone by the time those chicks start laying.

howdy all, Dinner was a great success, Sherry headed back to Loveland Co this morning , last load of laundry from upstairs both in the dryer and some on the line outside.

I am BEAT going to go zone for a while.

You all be safe
