Took DD cat back to vet. Different vet from Monday. Reg vet takes Wed afternoon and Thursdays off with no backup. He is kinda old. Felt like cat could not wait till Friday for care. She has not been able to eat, was drinking lots of water, not urinating, dry heaving this morning. Blood panel normal though, not diabetic or kidney or liver failure, so that's good. Left her at hospital. She needs fluids, antiemetics, anti-inflammatories. If she rallies enough to be able to eat, we will bring her home tomorrow and keep her going. She will need maintenance, probably prednisone and some kind of chemo. She will need a special diet. May have a couple years left in her. She is at least 9 years old, could be 12 or older but we don't really know. If she can't eat .... well. Not leaving her in hospital long term. But we will cross that bridge when we need to. I am more concerned for DD than I am for cat, honestly, although she talks brave.

story time,
My sister and her baby. Her husband beat her up and she came to me for protection. My mom lived next door to me at the time. Kim was down for the count ,couldnt get off the couch and I laid the baby next to her for a nap. I went to the torture chamber to make some lunch and I heard her crying. (my sister) I went in there and there stood her 6'2" husband w/ baby in his arms and she was begging him to give her back. Mom some how sensed something wrong and came over. we were standing side by side. We looked at each other and knew what to do. Mom grabbed the baby and although I dont remember hitting him I do remember him laying in the floor out cold and thinking man he has some long legs and arms. They said he sailed over the coffee table long ways. I remember picking him up and tossing him down my steps and daring him to show his face again. They called me baby Huey. God knows how much I miss my sister. I pass by her grave almost daily. Again, at the hands of a man she lost her life. I wasnt there to protect her.
