Granny's gone and done it again

I am so tired! I slept for a couple of hours, then woke up with a sore throat.
Last night I unplugged the incubator, figured the eggs were done hatching. This afternoon after I put away the birds I went upstairs to change. What do I hear but peeping! In the tiny incubator was a tiny baby quail chick with curly feet! After my nap I got it out and duct taped its feet flat. So I now have a quail with duck feet!
gonna have to start candling them I guess.

Pretty good. Lucky I had buyers meet me since attendance was low. I sold my 2 adult pairs of California valley quail, four bantam cochin chicks, a bantam mottled blue cochin cockerel, a pair of 4 to 5 month old gold laced polish, two Tolbunt polish chicks and maybe some other birds.
My friend bought 4 pea chicks and 3 guineas. She is thrilled.
Not bad !

Can you see the little yellow feet?
I went outside to get some more chick feed, and walked by the cage where the young California valley quail are. What do I see? A new bracelet for me!

Its feet are the biggest thing about it ! . Hope it does good.
I just made the fry food. I tested a piece and it seems to do the job although the smallest drop I could freeze is still too much. I will need to break them in half for each feeding. Their still not ready for food yet. Waters on the cool side taking longer.
