I like him, he's very perty indeed!
Say, when you said you had a new batch of chickens, I thought you meant you hatched some.. but they are fully grown, so did ya bake them like cookies or something?

Couple of other pullets.

They were hatched March 15 or April 15. Just started laying.

Please identify... please identify.. I get the barred rock, but the hens with the feather hats?
One looks like my black sex link pullet, but she doesn't have a hat on, like yours.
They are barnyard mix. The ones with the hats are half polish.

You had a toilet in your kitchen??? ;)
Close, Bruce. There was a toidy and sink under the front stairs. The door to that "half-bath," as we would call it these days (it was the only bathroom on the ground floor!) was right behind Dad's chair at the dinner table. This house was a two-story brick with attic and basement. The only real bathroom, with a tub, was at the top of the stairs.

It is not barred rock but barredholland.

I went to go get a snake to relocate it and it had escaped from the bag. And today I found a different snake trying it's best to kill one of the two California valley and outside! The bird was barely alive, and I pried it out of the snake's grip. That snake got an immediate transfer to another zip code! Losing patience with snakes.

How awful! I am sorry.
