Granny's gone and done it again

Missing my sister tonight. Sitting here thinking about when we used to sneak out of the house. There was a riding stable somewhere in the neighborhood. I didnt know how to get there but Kim did. We took off in our nightys 10 and 12 yrs old and we hopped the fence and we went bare back riding. What a wonderful free feeling. We did that every night for a couple weeks. We had to find buckets or what ever we could to stand on to get on their backs. All good things come to an end and that did when the horse stepped on my foot and she helped me home. We hid that injury til it healed but she wouldnt let me go back.

Man, it hurts when a horse steps on your foot! And they just stand there, they don't get off until you push them off.

I only put the basket in there in the first place for her to keep her eggs together.. Like I said.. she laid 10 eggs and buried them... now there are 7 new eggs, which she separated into two groups. I don't know if she'll go broody or not, just hopeful she does as she's part silkie.

Speaking of her.. 3 of the 4 BA/Silkie/Mystery have begun laying. Bruiser's two ladies are because the clutch went from 8 to 10 overnight. Mollie still isn't laying, but she's recuperating just fine in with SP and Henri. So proud of my gals.
These chickens have been hatching for years. She’s will either be a good mom or not fastest way to get them to a ado mood their nest is to keep changing things up. Brood hen is much easier than doing it all yourself. She will push out the eggs that are no good. Theyknow how to keep their eggs together. You don’t need to help. You don’t want to encourage her to get off the nest. Most Broodies only get off once a day. To poop, eat and drink.
