Granny's gone and done it again

I love dark chocolate.

@h2oratt, it's probably good I'm in self imposed lock down to stay healthy this summer because I almost work myself into a stroke when I drive by an Amish farm and see a black horse standing out in the noon sun when it's 90 degrees outside under full tack. My father served in the US Calvary pre WWII. Think Col Potter on MASH where he was in their exhibition riding team. He would do Roman riding and pyramid jumping so I inherited his love for horses. To see a horse standing out in the heat without shade and working in a harness with galls is almost more than I can stand.

Then there is the puppy mill problem...

When we bought our farm we quickly discovered that you can be neighbors, you can be cordial but forget being friends. There is a huge chasm between us and them.

An anti inflammation diet in other words which I try, mind you I said try to observe. I do pretty well considering, actually. Don't eat a lot of processed foods, don't eat fast food. I do eat chocolate and frankly, they will pry a Hershey bar from my cold lifeless hand.
I agree! Must have daily chocolate, it's better than vitamin pills!

I need to cut a piece of chicken wire for the last three feet or so left to do on the goat pasture fence. Then there's a little spot near a tree where I ran out of wire, so I need to cover that. It was getting dark, so I did a little work on one end of the Serama run. But it was even getting too dark for that. So I closed up the barn and the polish run, drove the Mule into the garage and closed up the shop. No sooner got into the house and it started pouring rain. We do not need rain. The river is already up.

Tomorrow I am selling my three Black Large Fowl cochin hens. Two of them are broody and they have so many eggs that they can barely cover them. And the guy is buying two pairs of bantam cochins. Two of those hens are broody, but I will likely keep those 2 and sell the other 2. They also are sitting on quite a few eggs. Sounds like I better fire up an incubator! Plus he's buying 5 Serama chicks.

Just got in from feeding and gathering eggs. I have a hen that thinks she is broody. She does this about four times a year but give her eggs and after about a week she gets bored and wanders off. Like I don't have a short attention...oh LOOK! something sparkly! Unfortunately her name is T-Rex because every time I take her eggs away from her I come away with a bloody bite on my hand. Worse than SCGs perpetually broody turkey.
