Granny's gone and done it again

OMG I hate early mornings. Lena up about 6 am and so was I for the day.

Finished off that Apartment as Angie left the stuff just sitting on the counter. Then took care of that partially downed tree, pruned the one Apple tree that got "ruffed up" by the branches of the downed tree, and then as long as the sawzall was out did a little more pruning, Mike helped load down the pickup and was it ever packed BUT got it all in one trip to the Bailer Building. Bank statement for the motel account got here today so got that balanced and finished the end of Aug books. Erv stopped in for a short visit.

Dogs mainly Beth raising hell in the backyard.

I wondered the same thing, but having figured out Granny is just a tad hard headed, I thought the threats and entreaties from the other gals should get to her.. but now with some former red headed nurse threatening to um "......." her if she doesn't behave, maybe she'll listen?

I love that design for the coop.

I was looking around the intardwebz for something easy since I will be doing multiple coops. That one looked easy enough and said it cost under $200 to do... Mine cost $233 each, plus another $50 for the hen bins. So, all in all it didn't break the bank.

I can handle hard heads being one myself. Comes from my father being Pennsylvania Dutch/German and my mom Irish and Cherokee.

Powerful things those hard head genes! Especially when you are a freckled red head on top of it.

I just got back from taking a second Cattle dog on a walk and obedience lesson. Talk about hard heads, Bentley defines it. For 2 minutes he bucked and reared like a horse with me just standing there holding onto the end of the leash waiting for him to get tired. He finally did and from that point on walked beside me like a perfect little gentleman. We walked to both of our ponds and enjoyed the sunny afternoon.

I'll show you mine if you show me yours! I'm in big twoubles now, ladies and gents. This wasn't supposed to arrive until between the 13th and 16th as it was just shipped yesterday...
Don't mind the 'help!' written in the dust... That's the brooder room and you should see all the knick knacks on the shelf!

Since it takes 21 days to incubate a batch... that's 3 weeks, and the piglets are 3 1/2 weeks old, a new batch should be hatching a day or so after said piglets go out to their new home. I want to hatch 4 from Bruiser's lady, and 4 from Henri's lady. I know Maggie is laying fertilized eggs, cause I cooked up some this morning for treats... Saw the bullseye.

I had to take the 2 big cochin hens off their nests to sell them today. There was one chick that just hatched, and 24 more eggs. So I had already fired up a bator and I put them in there. It will be a staggered hatch for sure.

One of my two Frizzled Tolbunt hens died today. I noticed about 2 days ago she had mites. So I dusted her and put her off on her own. She was always afraid of the rooster, and had to wear an apron. RIP Betty Crocker.
I will be doing a lot of coop cleaning and spraying very soon.
