Cap, take some advice from somebody who dealt with two demented parents and got physically abused until they finally begged for help.
If he won't go to the doctor and level with him (from my experience they never do, it's always the other person's fault for their behavior)then you need to contact his doctor any way you can and level with him either in person or by phone.
Many forms of dementia present in their early phases with personality changes. I would hate to hear from you that things have gotten worse and you are bearing bruises or worse from explosive dementia behavior.
My dad was happily confused. Mom was violent. I still have nightmares about it 21 years later. I don't want anyone to live through what I did with her.
