Earlier Verna asked us to identify something we love about ourselves. This is tricky for me. Because what I like best about myself is also something I don't like. As Monk would admit, it's both a blessing and a curse. I like that I cannot lie. Oh, don't misunderstand, I'm not boasting. It isn't due to any righteousness in me. Believe me, I've tried. I can't lie because I am just so monumentally bad at it. A three year old would know I was lying. I can't play poker at all. Everything is right there in my face, for all to see. If I get a good hand, everybody else folds. So I gave it up. Lying, that is. If there's something I don't want to share, I don't try to cover it up, I just honestly say I don't care to discuss that. Then I don't. But the curse part of this is that I lack tact. If you ask me if your hat is ugly and it is, I will ask if you have a different hat, or maybe a scarf, or suggest going hatless. I won't let you go out looking like a squid died on your head. I'm too honest.

She's very pretty! She'll get more red as she matures. Most of my chickens name themselves eventually. Some personality or physical trait stands out and they are named for that... Grumpus, Spot, Bunny, Edna Mode...
