Granny's gone and done it again

Was it running hotter the last time you drove it? That's a big indicator of impending trouble.
No, yesterday Robert and I went to Madison and the engine light came on on the way home.

I just went out to check the chickens, good thing I did. That Candy corn polish hen was back outside in the run. Going to be quite chilly tonight. The 3 cockerels got put back in the Turkey Coop. I really need to put some lower roosts in there, and close it in. I am really low on 2x4s.

Those dang engine lights. My dad has a little gizmo reader you can plug into the car... I forget what it's called, but it accesses the engine computer and reads out the codes. You look up the codes in the book and find out what's wrong with the car.

#1's car passed smog this morning! :wootHe borrowed grandpa's reader gizmo and found out why his check engine light was on, did a little research, and found that it could have been as simple as needing a new gas cap. The seal on his was gnarly and cracked, so he got a new one and voila, the engine light went off!! Passed smog the next day. :) Makes me feel good that we traveled so far and took a big chance on that old car, but it's proving to be a great deal. I was expecting several hundred dollars worth of work.
Only thing needs doing now it to get the brake rotors resurfaced, or replaced, depending on the price.
