Granny's gone and done it again

I literally just got an embroidery machine from a friend today. She never even took it out of the box because she doesn't know how to sew. Lol! I'm excited because I've never had an embroidery machine before!
Oh oh....:ya Which one is it??

Mine is small and I mostly use it for labels and such, but gurrrl, I know all the places to go for free designs!!

GORGEOUS embroidery!!! It's going to be fabulous when you can snuggle under it and I love the farm fabric too!! Hand embroidery, right??
Indeed. Thank you! I'm sitting here doing the final stitching on one of the rows so I can get the basting pulled.

The backing is black with silver chicken wire hex print on it. I wanted to do something on the back so I could use both sides as the spirit moves me.

It's nothing super fancy, a Brother SE400 I think? It's still in the back of my car because it was really heavy. Lol! I'll make a spot for it next to my vinyl cutter and set it up tomorrow!

That's almost the same as mine! Mine sews a few more regular stitches that I never use, but I think the embroidery function is nearly identical. I don't use mine enough to have everything memorized yet, but holler if I can help. Especially finding the threads, stabilizer, and dowloadable designs. (It's got a little USB port, right?)

Beautiful! You hand embroidered all of that?! I can see why it took so long!
Yes, all hand embroidered. Trying to keep my fingers as nimble as possible. My right hand is better than my left which is weird since I'm predominately right handed. I'm loosing strength and dexterity though so I figured this would help.

How Cool! The last one I saw was at the sewing center that tuned up the sewing machine for us. They tried really hard to sell it to me...at an exorbitant price. Silly thing could do everything except the dinner dishes but was fully programable and did professional quality work. My sewing machine will do embroidery but I get more satisfaction out of hand sewing quilts.

The one I almost have finished is about 75% hand quilted. I decided to retop a store bought comforter. When I started working on the edging, I discovered that my hands couldn't handle the extra thick material so I'm machine quilting that.

I got so mad at Joann's fabric. When I bought the material that I wanted to use for the new top, I ordered 6 yards thinking they would send me 6 continuous yards. Nope. they sent me4 yards then 2 yards. I couldn't put it together the way I wanted to so I had to get creative with it. Not the way I wanted it but as it's an every day type of comforter it'll do.

@microchick how is your day?
Not bad! I was doing pretty good until after lunch where somebody hit me with a bag of rocks and I fell on the sofa only to awaken at 3 pm....no not really. For some reason, this round of Prolia (injectable treatment for osteoporosis and osteopenia) has made me get these weird flashes of extreme fatigue where I have to lie down and sleep for anywhere from thirty minutes to two hours. Sure takes a big chunk out of my day when it hits me. How about you, Verna?

Thank you! I'll definitely reach out to you if I get confused with it. Yes, it must have a USB port because it says it connects to the computer, lol! I suppose I'll find out tomorrow!

Oh I would be SO frustrated with Joann's fabric too! I can't believe they did that!

I have made small quilts in the past, mostly for babies. The quilt I was making for myself I ended up making the squares that I actually finished, into throw pillows because I realized I was never going to finish the quilt, lol, my Aunt sure did love those throw pillows. :gig
